THE NATUREWORKS ALLIANCE began as a group of individuals interested in exploring and promoting the concept of green infrastructure in the Wasatch Front region who met regularly for breakfast. Members of the EPC represent academia in NWA, but the majority of members are planning and design professionals from various levels of government and private practice.
The NWA serves functions including networking, providing assistance and information to communities, identifying opportunities for collaborative projects, and ideation. Entirely unfunded and purely voluntary, the NWA has been the catalyst for multiple community-based grant proposals, workshops, retreats, symposia, city government working groups, and other green infrastructure-related initiatives.
