Robin Rothfeder is a PhD candidate in the University of Utah’s Department of City & Metropolitan Planning. He is the department’s first Ecological Planning Fellow. Robin received a BS from UC Berkeley, double majoring in Environmental Science and Environmental Economics & Policy and graduating with the highest distinction in the College of Natural Resources. He then received an MS in Environmental Humanities from the University of Utah. Robin’s current research covers two areas: 1) the foundations, theories, definitions, and best practices in the emerging field of Ecological Planning, and 2) the application of Ecological Planning principles to water resources management in the communities, institutions, and cities of the southwestern US. Along with his scholarly work, Robin is an avid outdoor enthusiast and a certified yoga instructor. As a Salt Lake City native, he is excited to continue building interdisciplinary networks and conducting applied research for the benefit of his hometown, state, and region.
